Rhea County Historical and
Genealogical Society

Its primary purposes are:

• To locate, collect, and publish material that explains and illustrates the history of Rhea County and its surrounding areas.
   
• To collect and preserve artifacts and material for the Rhea County Heritage and Scopes Trial Museum and to display them properly.
   
• To participate in the education of the citizens of Rhea County, including its school students, regarding the people, historic sites, and events of the area.
